Con Midnights, che si aggiunge alle vittorie di Fearless, 1989 e Folklore, la pop star ha superato Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon e Frank Sinatra che si erano fermati a tre riconoscimenti in questa categoria. Miley Cyrus con Flowers si è aggiudicata la statuetta per Record of the Year, mentre la canzone dell’anno è What Was I Made For? di Billie Eilish e la Best New Artist è Victoria Monét. Oltre che per Midnights, Swift è stata premiata anche nella categoria di genere Best Pop Vocal Album, Cyrus anche per la Best Pop Solo Performance (Flowers, di nuovo). Zero riconoscimenti per Travis Scott (dieci le nomination totali), il miglior album rap è Michael di Killer Mike – il rapper di Atlanta ha inoltre trionfato nelle categorie Miglior canzone rap e Miglior interpretazione rap con Scientists & Engineers.
